Astrology is enjoying a booming renaissance and it is worth wondering: Why? The general feeling seems to be that as we shift into new paradigms and world views associated with the Age of Aquarius, the individual focus on external validation through acquisition of material goods, fame, and power is shifting, as well. More and more people are seeing their own psychological, emotional, and material contributions to the world around them and wondering what they can do to help the human world transition from violent and unfair to peaceful and equitable. Astrology has always been a penetrating tool for learning about the harmonies and antipathies of nature and our place within this broader cosmic schema. We must here differentiate between philosophical and archetypal astrology, and the garden varieties of predictive astrology available to the masses through websites and newspapers which fall more into the category of entertainment products. The study of astrology we are developing is aimed at providing sincere truth-seekers with practical tools to assist in the development of self and cosmic knowledge.
Dr. Hillman’s focus in these courses is to equip all levels of astrologers with the practical tools needed to understand the meaning and purpose of universal archetypal forces—principles whose active influence in our lives is represented in astrology through the placement, movement, and interaction between the planets, the houses, the signs, and the aspects. Dr. Hillman is particularly adept at encouraging students to move past their inherited assumptions and judgments to penetrate further into the rich symbolism of astrological events.
The series is organized in four nine-week courses. Each course builds a strong foundation of practical knowledge upon which the next course will expand. The courses can be taken as a one-year foundational series or as individual courses that assist students in advancing further knowledge one particular area of focus.
The first course is especially suitable for beginners but is suggested for all levels since mastering the foundational basics is a core requirement for advancing on the path of astrological education. In this course, students will learn about the primary building blocks of natal chart reading: planets and their glyphs, the houses and their meanings, the zodiacal signs and their meanings, and the archetypal symbolism associated with each of these primary areas. Students will also learn about various software to choose from to cast charts, and basic initial chart-reading techniques will be covered featuring Dr. Hillman’s unique approach.

Born and raised in Zürich, Switzerland, Dr. Hillman became immersed in archetypes at the age of sixteen. As a professional archetypal coach, he specializes in helping his clients understand their deeper purpose and their life's calling.

Great class! Dr. Hillman is an interesting and knowledgeable expert and teacher, and he presented the information in a way that each week built off the previous. The analogies of the planets to actors on a stage etc. were easy to remember and visualize. The reading material was very instructive and helpful, especially since this was my first time learning about something other than sun sign astrology. A whole new world has been opened up to me. I appreciated the lectures being recorded. I listened to several of the recordings, and they helped plant the ideas covered. The pace was quick and that seems appropriate, especially with the recordings and reading materials. The opportunity to ask questions and the suggestion to create a study group were also excellent.
